Preparing for your visit

In order to make the most of your visit I ask that you have the following documents ready prior to your appointment:

  • A referral from your GP or your specialist.
  • It is preferred for your GP to send the referral via Medical Objects. Alternatively you may fax or email a copy of the referral as soon as you receive it to give us the opportunity to triage the referral.
  • If you have been to the clinic before and are unsure if your referral is still valid please contact our reception staff.
  • Please provide any relevant results of previous assessment and tests that you have available before the appointment.
  • Medicare card and valid contact details.

Q?

A.

Q?

 Is there parking on-site?

A.

Yes there is free parking available.

Q?

How long is my appointment?

A.

Generally we reserve one hour for a new patient and 30 minutes for a review consultation. If the request for an appointment is very simple (in some infants) or for reviews this time may be shorter. If the review is for a complex behaviour, emotional and learning problem (eg. autism) we may need more appointments to provide a thorough assessment and synthesise a plan.

Q?

What should I bring to my appointment?

A.

  • GP referral and patient information questionnaire
  • Blue Book (or equivalent) for assessment of an infant or toddler
  • Previous assessments or reports e.g. pathology tests, imaging, educational/ learning reports
  • Payment for the consultation.

Q?

 Is your service Medicare rebatable?

A.

In order to receive a rebate we require a valid referral. In most instances, consultations are entitled to a Medicare rebate. Medicare requires the patient to be present. This will be directly credited to your savings account if you are registered with Medicare. Additionally there will be a out-of-pocket fee.

Q?

Will I receive a letter?

A.

Please advise reception if you would like to receive a letter of assessment and permission for us to email you our letter.
